Description
Cornish Yarg is all about the nettles! The team forage the nettles from Cornish hedgerows and then freeze them so that they last all year round. By the time they brush the leaves on, the sting has left them but the flavour hasn’t. The cheese develops a dusting of bloomy white moulds across its leafy rind which helps it to mature.
What’s it like? Yarg has a fresh mushroomy taste with an irresistible crumble in the core.
Where’s it from? Made by the Gray family (get it? Yarg is Gray backwards) at the Lynher Dairies cheese company.
Packaging: Comes as a 250g wedge with wrapping of nettles. Suitable for vegetarians.
Yarg is also available as a 1kg whole truckle with wrapping of nettles.
You can also buy Yarg as part of The Best of British Tasting Box and The Best of British X-Large Box. Both of these British boxes contain cheeses that will alleviate even the most melancholic homesickness.. They are perfect for those who live abroad and want a taste of home. Each classic cheese is robust enough for transit and deserves its place in the pantheon of Great British Cheeses.

Absolutely love this! Fantastically mild but with a distinctive taste. Just the right side of creamy and had a great crumbly texture to it. It is not a hard cheese. The nettles give it a totally extra dimension of flavour and texture. Will absolutely be in our next order.
