Special Reserve Aged Gouda

Aged Gouda is sweeter and more intense than a younger version. The texture also changes, becoming hard and crumbly and really dense. Many aged Goudas have tiny protein crystals that make the cheese a little bit crunchy. This Special Reserve Aged Gouda is matured for at least two years on traditional wooden shelves. The cheese has a fresh buttery fragrance and with a sweet finish, that may take on an almost butterscotch flavour.
