Coulommiers has been described as the ‘mother of all Bries’. However this description is not in the sense that it is a Brie but more that it is the ancestor of all Brie cheeses.

What’s it taste like? Coulommiers is smaller and thicker than most Bries and has a more buttery colour and taste with a hint of almonds.

Where’s it from? This is the AOC UNPASTEURISED, made only in the Brie region, Coulommiers comes as a wrapped 400g circular whole cheese.

We love this Fig Tart recipe from Milk Made, where oozing brie meets sweet, fattened figs. This tart is neither very sweet nor very savoury. You could serve it for lunch with a green salad, or for dessert with sweet yoghurt.

Best served warm, these Puff Pastry Parcels offer a bite of heaven with creamy smooth cheese and a punch of sweet sticky fig relish. We’ve adapted the original recipe as four just didn’t seem enough to us, but then 12 won’t last long either!

i bought this cheese for my best friends as part of a hamper!

I bought this cheese for my best friends as part of a hamper and they loved it their quote to me via text was “I wish you had scratch and sniff as this cheese if the stinkiest, most delicious we have ever tasted”!!
