What’s Black Bomber Cheddar like? A strong extra mature cheddar, it marries a deliciously rich flavour with a smooth creaminess. Black Bomber has won awards at The British Cheese Awards, Nantwich International Cheese Awards and the World Cheese Awards, and received a “Super Gold” award at Mondial du Fromage in France.
Where’s it from? Made by the Snowdonia Cheese company in Snowdonia, Wales.

Other cheeses from Snowdonia Cheese company include Green Thunder, Red Devil and Bouncing Berry.
Recipes:
This Cocotte Julienne is a traditional Russian dish which is very rich and creamy. Traditionally, this dish is served as an appetiser so you can make smaller portions in ramekins and serve it as a starter. If you love mushrooms and strong cheddar, this dish is perfect for you.
Liven up your jacket potatoes by stuffing them full of bacon and mature cheddar cheese. Salty bacon matched with the sharp maturity of the Black Bomber make these delicious and filling.
We’re keen as mustard on this Mustardy Mac and Cheese recipe from Tracklements. Always use a strong cheese when making mac and cheese to add a deep flavour.
Cheddar Quesadillas are a dinnertime staple.
Vintage Cheddar, Ham and Pea Risotto is an ideal for a mid-week dinner with a rocket salad or some steamed greens.

Tastiest Cheddar
Tried this at a food show and was mesmerised. Simply the smoothest tastiest cheddar I’ve ever tried. Strong but not overpowering. As above, wholemeal bread, celery and Black Bomber…heaven!

Strong&creamy
Beautiful cheese, strong taste but not overpowering. Creamy and almost smooth enough to spred, perfect on oatcakes with a glass of good red

A prince among cheeses
I feel as though my whole life has been slowly, inexorably drifting towards this moment. This time when I live 100 yards away from a dairy that stocks Snowdonia. Home brew, good bread and Snowdonia. What more does one need? Many cheese makers would sell their souls for the consistency of this cheese. A tantalising balance between creamyness and crumble. And the taste? it asserts itself, but doesn’t try to overpower. I’m in love…pour another pint, cut another slice of that bread, and carve me another slice of heaven.

Different and delightful.
Sadly there is a limit to just how much cheese I can eat and I’m such a blue cheese lover I rarely stray but I must say this was a delightful diversion off the beaten track. I love the creamy texture and full bodied flavour.
I have had the snowdonia smoked cheese too and that was quite divine!

The tastiest cheese
I get my Dad a random cheese selection box every year for Christmas. This cheese was kindly added as a freebee and my Dad described it as the best cheese he had received so far!

Not for wimps
A fantastically tasting ‘proper’ mature Cheddar. It ha a very strong taste, which I loved and which remains in the mouth for a considerable time. My only criticism (and it is a tiny one), is that I found it too crumbly although I suppose that is normal in mature cheeses. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would strongly recommend it, but only if you enjoy a strong taste!

Crumbley? goodness
This cheese has a beautifully strong Cheddar taste, my only criticism (and it is a tiny one) is that I found it a little crumblry for my taste. Although I expect one that is to be expected with a ‘mature’ cheese. However the taste is wonderful,so forget my little quibbles and try it yourself, you will not be disappointed.
